When you're still fighting

a war, it's hard to hold a

victory parade

To start a garden,

grow anything at all, you

must first dig a hole

Spring is almost here,

two months late, warming our bones.

We'll take each second

Torn page, near the back

of my journal, almost ripped

out, I'll still use it

For their wedding night,

the bride and groom did what you'd

expect they did: slept

A long weekend in

Victoria never seems

to be long enough

The choir filled the

church with joyous song, and yet

I remained empty

Sitting in a church,

hoping I don't burst into

flames. I'm feeling hot.
